Is a fixie bike the same as a single speed bike?
You will have seen the terms fixie bike and single speed bike used interchangeably but is there a difference and are they one and the same?
For the most part, the answer is ‘Yes’. However, there is one notable difference between the two: how the rear wheel functions. A fixie sees the pedals move in unison with the rear wheel’s rotation, whereas the rear wheel moves independently to the pedals with single speed bikes.

All Steed Bikes come as a single speed set up using the freewheel located on one side of the back wheel for independent pedal movement.
